Academy Ocean Grille Wows with Variety and Freshness
Co-owner Erica Goldberg Cummings describes the atmosphere at the Academy Ocean Grille in Orleans as, “fine dining in a casual atmosphere.” The menu, she adds, showcases “local and fresh food, simply prepared with influences of Asia, Italy and the Mediterranean.”
Erica and her father, Chuck Goldberg, have owned the Grille since the fall of 2005 when she left the management of the Clam Bar in Harwichport in search of new culinary adventures. Chuck came to the Cape from Reading, Mass. and a career in health care. They’ve been loyal insurance customers of Eldredge & Lumpkin from their earliest days in Orleans.
Executive Chef Todd Davis has been in charge of the kitchen for five years, creating always-new eclectic fare in a classic Cape Cod manner. He’s appreciated by his on- and off-Cape customers for melding singular flavors and styles from various cuisines and creating delightful combinations for the palate.
“Every year has shown steady growth in patrons at the Academy Ocean Grille,” Erica says with pride. “Our loyal customer base has grown dramatically.”
The Academy Ocean Grille is open every day from April to January. Lunch (including Sunday brunch) is served between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and dinner is offered from 5:30 p.m. until closing.
